Cranbourne Friends Annual Lunch 2018

Friends Annual Lunch

Have you marked Saturday 4th May 2019 in your diary? Come and join us for this annual social event.

The Annual Lunch is a major event on the calendar for Cranbourne Friends, bringing together old friends and creating new friendships of like-minded people who have a love of the Cranbourne Gardens.

The lunch is held in the Tarnuk room overlooking the stunning Red Sand Garden. A three course lunch – with a native twist– will be served by Sorrento Catering.

Our guest speaker is Dean Stewart, a proud and passionate Wemba-Wergaia Aboriginal man of Victoria who was the very first specific Aboriginal Liaison officer with the Royal Botanic Gardens. He created and operated the Aboriginal Heritage Walk at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Melbourne. Dean provided cultural consultancy for the Australian Garden at Cranbourne.

Dean loves sharing his culture with Melburnians to help them better understand their own backyard, and has founded a successful Victorian Aboriginal business –Aboriginal Tours and Education Melbourne- ‘A-TAEM’.  He likes to plant an Indigenous seed of knowledge and connection with everyone in the place that we all call home.

The annual lunch would not be complete without the Silent Auction, the Raffle or the Lucky Seat prizes. If any member would like to donate an item to these fundraising activities, please contact Barbara Jeffreys (0408 564 379 or

The lunch, to be held at 11.30 am on Saturday, May 4th 2019, in the Tarnuk Room, RBGV Cranbourne Gardens, costs $70 per head.
