Annual Nuytsia Pilgrimage
January 6, 2017 – 9:30 am - 11:00 am
The Western Australian Christmas Tree (Nuytsia floribunda) on Howson Hill has been recognised by Heritage Victoria and the National Trust as a significant tree. In recent years the Cranbourne Friends have conducted a pilgrimage to see this Western Australian Christmas Tree in flower.
Friday 6 January 2017 has been selected as likely to be a peak time for flowering. The procedure is to meet at 9.30am at the Visitor Centre and to walk out to inspect the flowering. There is no charge for this walk, but, be warned, it may conclude with coffee and cake in the Café.
Weather warning! If the weather forecast is above 32°C or if there is a Total Fire Ban, the walk will be deferred to the next day forecast to be 32°C or less.
An email will be sent to all Friends members confirming the date on which it will take place closer to the date.
