FiGs – Friends In The Garden

The FiGs – Friends in the Garden Volunteer Group –  are all keen to work in, and learn about the Australian Garden with others of similar interests. New faces are always welcome. Under the guidance of the horticulture staff we help ‘beautify and detail’ the Australian Garden environment. Yes, you may be allowed on the red sand garden! Depending on the plan for the day we may spend our time weeding, edging, sweeping or raking paths, mulching, tidying garden beds, help on planting days.

When we meet
This fantastic group help the Horticulture staff in the Australian Garden on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday morning of each month.  We meet at 9.15 am at the Visitor Centre and finish at 12.30 pm and adjourn for lunch.

What you will need to bring

Gardening gloves, kneeling mat or knee pads, sun hat and water.
