The Growing Friends Plant Sale is on the weekend of 26th and 27th October from 10.00am – 4.00pm in the Australian Garden near the kiosk. Make a day of it, come to the Plant Sale to buy some of our great plants and spend time to visit the beautiful Australian Garden or Cranbourne Gardens bushland.
The Spring Plant Sale Plant List in both alphabetical and plant type order can be found by clicking the links below.
As special feature of this plant sale is there will be some plants for sale that have been grown as part of the Raising Rarity Plant Project lead by Dr Meg Hirst – RBGV. Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria recently was awarded the Protection of Environment Award at the Keep Victoria Beautiful awards – see Raising Rarities program.
Raising Rarity uses a new approach to save rare and threatened flora by assessing the horticultural potential of rare species, to establish suitability for eventual introduction into cultivated systems, such as home gardens.
Dr Meg Hirst and some of her team including volunteers will be attending the sale on the Saturday to show case their plants, give advice and sell these plants.
