Join artist Erica Wagner on a gentle walk in the gardens, stopping in different locations to draw and paint whatever takes your fancy.
Erica is a painter, publisher and creative consultant to storytellers, who has won Victorian Artists Society prizes, and the Dromkeen Medal for her contribution to children’s publishing. She has recently returned from running the inaugural Octopus Story Campus for Top End artists and writers in Darwin, in conjunction with Johanna Bell.
Erica will encourage participants to observe colours and shapes and then translate them to paper. Bring a pencil, an A4 or A5 sketchbook , and your favourite materials – eg some pencils, inks, watercolours, a small jar for water, a rag and brushes.
Drawing is a great way to really see what’s around you and to relax and to enjoy being in nature. Slow down and have fun capturing the shapes and colours of the beautiful Cranbourne Gardens.
Prices: Members $20; Non-members $25; Students $10.
Suitable for all ages. Bring your children or grandchildren for a fun day.
Participants to meet at Visitor’s Centre at Cranbourne Gardens. The walk will start at 9.30, pausing to draw for 30-45 minutes in four locations.
