Gardens open to local residents

The Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria is now open for visits, with certain restrictions.

Groups of up to 10 are permitted, but members must be from no more than two households, each located within 25km of the Gardens.

Please wear a mask during your visit.

At Cranbourne, the Gardens Shop and Boon Wurrung Cafe are closed, as are drinking fountains and BBQs. Other restrictions are in line with government restrictions on physical distancing and mask wearing. You can now only walk around the Gardens with one other person.

To keep visitors and staff safe, capacities in public areas are restricted, including the visitor centres, and some of the narrow garden pathways are now one-way. It is necessary to follow all signage and maintain a safe distance during visits.

See: https://www.rbg.vic.gov.au/opening-updates for the latest information.

It is good to know that local area residents can enjoy the Gardens while taking some exercise. A daily dose of nature, wherever you can find it, is salve for the soul in these challenging times, please remain safe.

Programs, events and specialist groups activity (including the Growing Friends) remain on hold.  Arrangements will be reviewed as further announcements are made by government. Please note that the Friends have cancelled all activities and events until the end of the year.
