Gardens open for visits-updated

The Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria is now open for visits, with certain restrictions.

The RBGV have announced a few changes for the safety of visitors and staff.

Cranbourne Gardens is open daily, 9am to 5pm

Closed: BBQs, drinking fountains

Gardens Shop: Cranbourne Gardens Shop is now open

Dining: Oliver’s Vintage Coffee Van, located outside the Visitor Centre in the Australian Garden for coffee and snacks.

  • Mon to Fri, 10am to 4pm
  • Weekends and public holidays, 9.30am to 4pm

Closed: Please note Boon Wurrung Café is closed until further notice. After several years, Sorrento Catering has chosen not to renew its lease at Cranbourne Gardens and will not reopen the Boon Wurrung Café. We thank them for their hard work over the years and the thousands of coffees they have served to our staff and visitors.

Groups of up to 50 are permitted.  Face masks are no longer mandatory when you are outdoors if you can stay 1.5 metres away from people that you do not live with. You must use a fitted face mask when indoors, including in our shops and Visitor Centres, so please continue to carry a face mask with you at all times.

To keep visitors and staff safe, capacity in some public areas is restricted and there are currently no tours or events taking place.

Narrow garden pathways are now one way so please follow all signage and maintain a safe distance from others during your visit.

During this period, we will continue our standard cleaning service, with supplementary cleaning of high touch areas. We recommend visitors bring their own hand sanitiser and practise good hygiene.

We greatly appreciate your support and understanding during this time, and we look forward to sharing the Gardens with you soon.

It is good to know that visitors can enjoy the Gardens while taking some exercise. A daily dose of nature, wherever you can find it, is salve for the soul in these challenging times, please remain safe.
