Great news for Cranbourne Gardens

On Saturday, 3rd July, the Hon. Lily D’Ambrosio, Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Change, announced additional one-off funding from the Victorian Sate Government of $8.52 million to support the delivery of critical asset maintenance and repairs.

Some of the projects to be delivered include replacement of the perimeter fence at Melbourne Gardens, and at Cranbourne Gardens improved visitor access at the western entry, sealing of the carpark, and improvements to facilities for delivery of education programs on-site.

The Cranbourne Friends are delighted with the support provided by the Government to Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria, as it is a testament to the important role the Gardens play in the lives of Victorians.

A project to connect recycled water from Melbourne Water’s Eastern Treatment Plant at Carrum Downs to the Cranbourne Gardens, is nearing completion.
