The Cranbourne Friends has released its Annual Report for the year 2021-2022, after a resoundingly successful Annual General Meeting.
The publication Carolyn Landon’s book, Of Friends and Gardens, was a landmark achievement of the year – a longstanding project that has resulted in a beautifully crafted and illustrated narrative of the people and activities that have defined the Friends. The quality and professionalism of the production is a reflection of the work and care taken by so many people over many years of preparation.
Our relationship with the Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria is fruitful, respected and appreciated. We are delighted that the Gardens has received Government funding recently for a wide range of projects; our Annual Report includes a description of some of the changes that have taken place as a result.
At the AGM, the Friends celebrated the achievements and friendship of two RBGV staff who have or are about to retire, after long service to the Gardens and ongoing friendship and support of the Friends group.
During the year along with our regular plant sales, we have offered both members and visitors a range of interesting talks, walks, tours, and workshops. Despite COVID-19, and the need for cancellations and rescheduling, these include trips to Far North Queensland and Mount Hotham
