Twenty-three botanical artists, members of the famed Whirlies, participated in the project, with each completing an illustration of a species which they have since donated to State Botanical Collection in the RBGV National Herbarium of Victoria.

The aim of The Acacia Project was to study and record a selection of the rare and endangered Acacias growing in RBGV Melbourne.
If you are interested in learning more about botanical art, a two-day Watercolour workshop with well known botanic artist Marta Salomon is being offered at RBGV Cranbourne, on two Wednesdays 4 October and 18 October 2023. The course will focus on illustration of an Anigozanthus (Kangaroo Paw) flower.
The cost of the course is $210.00, or $165.00 for Members of the Cranbourne Friends.
