Playing, Learning And Connecting In Nature

Playing, learning and connecting in nature

For children who enjoy getting creative, crafty, and messy, Royal Botanic Gardens Cranbourne is hosting Nature Play: free family-friendly, nature-based activities from Tuesday 23 January to Friday 25 January.

Under the shade of the eucalypts in the Kids’ Backyard, join Learning Facilitators to learn about the different plants and animals through a range of nature-inspired family-friendly play activities. No bookings are required. Find out more.

On any pleasant summer day, families may also like to visit the new Woodland Picnic area (at right) or Stringybark picnic area, for some time in the bush.

At both RBG Cranbourne and RBG Melbourne these school holidays, children can ride free on the Kid’s Explorer Bus. This is a 30-minute tour designed especially for families where children and their loved ones will experience the sights, sounds and scents of the Gardens, and learn why plants are so important for our planet.
