Antarctica and the Expedition Cruise Industry with Luke Saffigna

Sunday, June 15 – 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Join us for a behind-the-scenes account of the Antarctic expedition cruise industry by naturalist guide Luke Saffigna. Luke has been sailing to Antarctica since the 90’s and has witnessed first-hand many changes to this last great wilderness.

This talk will be held in the Auditorium at Cranbourne Gardens.

A passion for wild places led Luke to become a Park Ranger, Naturalist, Conservationist and Guide.

As a Park Ranger he lived and worked on sub-Antarctic Macquarie Island. This in turn led him to become a naturalist guide on expedition ship to Antarctica. Luke was Senior Ranger at Sydney Olympic Park before moving back to Melbourne where he created and delivered nature-based visitor experiences at the Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria. He currently works at Melbourne Zoo. Luke continues to guide on expeditions ships in wild places such as Antarctica, the Arctic and the Kimberley coast.

Cost: $30 for non-members, $25 for members
