The Cranbourne Friends Committee is delighted that you’re interested in joining a Committee or regularly attending a Special Interest Group, at RBGV Cranbourne. We hope you’ll find your involvement both enjoyable and rewarding.

As part of our commitment to child safety under the Cranbourne Friends agreement with the RBGV, all “active” Friends are required to meet certain requirements. These guidelines apply to you as a member of a Committee or Special Interest Group.

These are the key resources you will need to read, sign or watch to complete this process.

  1. If you do not have a current Working with Children Check (WWCC)*, apply for it as a volunteer via the Services Victoria website. The application process can be completed online, and Volunteer checks are free. Please use the following contact details of the organisation; secretary@rbgfriendscranbourne.org.au. Once we receive approval of your Check or a copy of your card, we’ll keep a copy on your profile in our membership system, TidyHQ.
  2. If you already have a current Working with Children Check (WWCC)*, provide a photo or scanned copy of your card to our Secretary, Susan Delaney. Once we receive the copy of your card, we will keep it on your profile in our membership system, TidyHQ. Also add RBG Friends Cranbourne to the “Where you work or volunteer” section of your profile on the Services Victoria website (use secretary@rbgfriendscranbourne.org.au as the organisation contact details).
  3. Fill out, sign, and submit by email the Child Safe Statement of Commitment to our Secretary, Susan Delaney. You are asked to read child safe policy and child safe code of conduct before doing this.
  4. Confirm via email with that you’ve completed the Child Safe online training program (1 hour video).

*If you are an existing committee or SIG member and your WWCC is due to expire, renew it on the Services Victoria website, using secretary@rbgfriendscranbourne.org.au as the contact details of the organisation. Once we receive approval of your Check or a copy of your card, we’ll update your profile in TidyHQ and confirm with you that this has been done.

We understand that some members may experience difficulties with online processes or computer use. If that’s the case, you can visit a nearby Post Office that handles Passport Applications. They can assist you in taking your photo and lodging your digital application for a small fee. Similarly, if you are applying online, but are having trouble providing a suitable photo, the Post Office is able to provide you with a photograph that meets the systemic requirements, for a fee.
